Electric cables for photovoltaic systems.

Electric cables for use in photovoltaic systems are suitable for mobile, suspended or fixed installation, both indoors and outdoors. It can also be installed in tubes, channels, in or under plaster and in appliances.

Given the demanding climatic conditions that these cables endure due to their permanent installation outdoors for very long periods of time, usually years, the environmental requirements to be satisfied in this area are strict and reflect the variable working conditions to which they will be subjected to these cables during their useful life.

Therefore, environmental tests are essential in this type of cables and the particular design standards establish various environmental tests and the thermal endurance test to recreate the working conditions over time. Another requirement to fulfill is the fundamental low temperature behavior for outdoor installations that require mechanical stability at temperatures below 0ᵒC.

Other tests that include the certification of these cables would be:

These cables can be designed according to the UNE-EN 50618 and IEC 62930 standards, being commonly referred to as H1Z2Z2-K.
