UV Ageing
The objective of this test is to reconstruct the effects of degradation over the lifespan of materials and products when they are exposed to sunlight in environments defined for their use.
Test methods
Ultraviolet light ageing: The sample is exposed to UV light, which is the main agent responsible for degradation in these materials or products when outdoors, and test cycles are simulating using a light spectrum between 300 mm and 400 mm.
Sunlight ageing: This type of test simulates exposure of the sample or material to UV light, but also to the visible, infrared spectrum with wave lengths between 300 mm and 700 mm using Xenon lamps.
In both test methods the simulation of the effects of rain and dew on the material or product are also considered.
