Charging cables for electric vehicles

The function of electric vehicle (EV) charging cables is to supply power and communication to both electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

These cables are studied in isolation, without any kind of accessory or plug, and may be an integral part of the vehicle, the part of the cable coming from a removable assembly of a connector between a vehicle and a power supply or a permanently connected cable of a charging point.

EV charging cables are designed to withstand continuous use, so tests such as the cyclic bending test or the hardness test guarantee their correct operation. In addition, tests such as resistance to chemical agents or environmental tests simulate its exposure to extreme agents during the working life of the cable.

Tests:

These cables can be designed according to the standards UNE-EN 50620 and the series IEC 62893-1, IEC 62893-2, IEC 62893-3 e IEC 62893-1-4, commonly known as H05BZ5-F, H05BZ6-F, H07BZ5-F and H07BZ6-F.
