First independent laboratory in Spain to carry out tests for Refrigerated Display Cabinets

25-01-2022 News

CEISLAB has once again taken on the challenge of innovation, undertaking a new project that will add new testing possibilities for Refrigerated Display Cabinets to its offer. Always based on the most advanced technology, it will provide highly reliable results.

By the end of 2022, CEISLAB plans to set up a new test station exclusively for this equipment. Increasing ecological requirements, stricter regulations and strong national and international competition are driving interest in testing this equipment to verify compliance with ever more stringent energy performance requirements.

What will we be able to test?

The new facility will test cabinets, wall cabinets, display cabinets and islands for the display and sale of frozen and refrigerated foods in all climatic classes listed in the EN ISO 23953-2 test standard “Refrigerated display cabinets – Part 2: Classification, requirements and test conditions (ISO 23953-2:2015)”. The types of units to be tested may be “plug-in” type, with integrated condenser and also with remote condenser. For the latter type of equipment, the main refrigerant gases with which these units work have been considered.

In addition, it will be possible to determine all the parameters for calculating the energy efficiency index of this equipment, thus complying with the Energy Labelling (EU) 2019/2018 and Ecodesign (EU) 2019/2024 regulations that affect Refrigerated Display Cabinets.

About CEISLAB Energy Unit

The new laboratory will be integrated within the CEISLAB Energy Unit, which already has calorimetric chambers, reverberant acoustic chambers and other specific stations for air flow measurements aimed at the air conditioning sector and tests on domestic hot water production equipment. It also has the only test station in Europe specifically designed for VRF type equipment with a measurement capacity of up to 100kW of cooling or heating capacity, covering the full range of outdoor temperatures required by eco-design regulations.
