Heat pump
A heat pump is a thermal machine that uses a refrigerant gas in a closed thermodynamic cycle to transfer heat from the natural environment (through air, water or soil) to a building or for industrial applications. They invert the natural flow of heat, so that it flows from a lower temperature to a higher one. Reversible heat pumps can also transfer the heat from a building to the natural environment.
Operation of heat pumps is based on the process of phase change that takes place in each cooling cycle. CEISLAB is able to test air/water, water/air, water/water and air/air heat pumps
